Pia Fraus

Formed in 1997, Estonian shoegazers Pia Fraus started slowly after meeting in high school. Rein Fuks (guitar/vocals) and Tonis Kenkmaa (guitar) formed the band with Reijo Tagapere (bass) and Joosep Volk (drums). Cutting their teeth on the sounds of Stereolab and My Bloody Valentine, the group experimented with synthesizers and such. They then recruited Kristel Loide (vocals) and Kärt Ojavee (keys). The band settled on the name Pia Fraus in autumn of 1998 and began recording in 1999. 2001 saw the release of their debut album Wonder What It's Like, on their own Pia Records label. This is "400 & 57" off of their second album In Solarium.
