The Haunted Windchimes

The Haunted Windchimes are a folk band from Colorado Springs, CO. Their sound is very traditional with folk and blues, and the songs have a vintage quality. It is as if they might have been written yesterday or 75 years ago. The band consists of Desirae Garcia (vocals/ukulele), Chela Lujan (vocals/banjo), Inaiah Lujan (vocals/guitar), Mike Clark (harmonica/guitar/mandolin), and Sean Fanning (bass).  It’s the vocal harmonies that really set them apart from other traditional folk bands. When the trio of voices blend, it is nothing short of beautiful. The sound is often moody and melancholy, but it is always deeply affecting. That sound is embroidered by the instrumental mastery of the entire ensemble. This is "Lordy, Lordy" off of their album Verse-Visa.

Today is my brother Jon's birthday. He is celebrating it in the wilderness of Wyoming searching for dinosaurs. Just wanted to wish him a Happy Birthday and let him know that he shares his birthday with Tom Monaghan (founder of Dominos Pizza), Elton John, Tom Glavine, Doug Stanhope (comedian), Danica Patrick, and Juvenile (rapper). Holla!
